About Waleed Alam:
In his late teens, still figuring out which university to take admission in, Waleed kick–started his photographic ramblings using his ancient camera present in a Nokia feature cell phone. The photos were always pixelated, incorrectly colored and shabby, but they gave Waleed a purpose, they filled a void in his heart to relive memories. Starting with experiments in two clichéd genres, landscape, and lifestyle, Waleed ventured into other genres such as portraits, long–exposure, candid and food. The journey that started with a feature cell phone, ventured into Waleed becoming a professional photographer, graduating his Film studies, and founding one of Pakistan’s most sought–after media coverage studios “Concept One Studios”. Waleed holds a distinguished portfolio of working in the corporate sector with notable brands like Pepsi, Bahria Town, and Roots Millennium Schools among others. In the area of wedding photography, Waleed has traveled most parts of the country, including areas like Jamshoro, Kashmir, Gilgit, covering weddings of all magnitudes and dimensions. Waleed’s skill of working in the shadows, giving audiences ample space to feel comfortable and do not feel shy by the presence of a photographer, made him a household name. His keen observant eye looks at the surroundings just as a painter would imagine a canvas. His passion for candid photography and portraits uplift every event, preserving moments as livable photos. Apart from covering events, capturing beautiful humans and post–processing GBs of data, Waleed runs a social enterprise “School of Visual Aesthetics”, that teaches youth with art skills that empower them to be financially independent.
